Progression Information
COLLEGE PROGRESSION – Moving Forward
ACADEMIC STATUS
OSDS Advisors monitor the academic progress of their advisees and check their advisees’ academic statuses at the end of each semester. The following are the progression levels of academic status:
STATUS | MEANING |
---|---|
Good Standing | Well done! Keep in regular contact with your Major Advisor to stay on the right track. |
Academic Probation | Academic Probation accurs when a student recieves a cumulative GPA below a 2.0. They are given one semester to bring their GPA > 2.0 or recieve a semester GPA > 2.3 to continue on academic probation. Not meeting the GPA requirement will result in university suspension. |
Academically No Longer Eligible | Occurs when a student has not demonstrated that they are making satisfactory progress toward completion of their major degree. They are in violation of this requirement and will not be allowed to enroll in the Lee College of Engineering courses if they have two consecutive semesters of unsatisfactory progress or do not meet other requirements listed on the First-Year Progression Requirement. A student who fails to satisfy one or more of the progression requirements but who nonetheless meets the conditions for continued enrollment in the University will be ineligible to re-enroll in the W.S. Lee College of Engineering until an appeal is accepted by the W.S. Lee College of Engineering. Once an appeal is accepted, requirements for continued enrollment appropriate to the individual situation are specified in a “Continuation Agreement” that is mutually agreed upon and signed by the student and his/her appropriate major advisor. A student may submit an appeal to the OSDS Appeals/Petition Form for reconsideration. |
Academic Suspension | Occurs when a student has been suspended by the University. Students must follow University guidelines for appeal. Readmission to the W.S. Lee College of Engineering after a University Suspension is not automatic. An application for readmission must be made by the student and be approved by the College/department. Students who are readmitted to the W.S. Lee College of Engineering after a University Suspension must meet requirements for continued enrollment appropriate to their individual situation. These requirements are specified in a “Continuation Agreement” that is mutually agreed upon and signed by the student and his/her appropriate major advisor. The consequences of failure to meet the requirements of the agreement may be articulated in the agreement itself. however, if these consequences are not included in the agreement, failure to meet the requirements will automatically result in the student’s not being permitted to continue to enroll in W.S. Lee College of Engineering courses. |
