The Lee College of Engineering Leadership Academy Program is an intensive, two-semester leadership development experience for highly motivated engineering and engineering technology students — powered by industry and delivered through active learning.

Leadership Academy Program

Engineering projects in the real world are complex, involving many disciplines and functions, frequently with scopes that have several possible solutions or approaches.
We start our program with a weekend off campus where students not only get to know each other, but they also learn more about themselves!
Team building and an introduction to leadership are presented through highly active learning led by facilitators from college faculty, industry guests and Academy alumni, all bringing real-world perspectives and examples.
The intensive two-semester program continues active learning and application in communications and leadership skills and competencies to not only fulfill leadership roles on campus, but to practice in Junior and Senior Design as well.
The Leadership Academy equips undergraduates with the following essential leadership competencies that the engineering industries and communities need:

Our engineering leadership program is unique, modeled after industry Professional Development and Leadership programs, but focused with students in mind.
Cohort students are equipped with communication, leadership skills and competencies to not only fulfill leadership roles on campus, but to then immediately apply those skills successfully to lead teams and drive innovation in the real world after graduation.
The Lee College of Engineering Leadership Academy equips undergraduates with the following leadership competencies that the engineering industries and communities need. Through the program, students learn to:
