Sid Alvis is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute with a BS in Electrical Engineering, and an Executive MBA from Northern Illinois University. After an assignment in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Alvis entered the nuclear energy industry as a Systems Engineer at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant in New Hill, NC, during final construction, plant start-up, and the first year of commercial operations

Professor Harkins has been with the Office of Student Development and Success since 2010, in a variety of capacities.
